This Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology program track is a nonterminal Master's degree program available only to students in the Industrial and Organizational Psychology PhD program. This program develops competency through research and training for the application of psychological principles to organizations. The degree is patterned on the scientist-practitioner model of the American Psychological Association (APA). The program provides students with training consistent with the scientist-practitioner model. A key assumption of the program is that every graduate must be a highly competent scientist who can contribute to both the science and practice of the discipline.

The MS degree program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology typically is completed within the first 2-3 years of the doctoral program. The MS degree is required for advancement to candidacy in the doctoral program. This requirement can be waived by the program director for students entering the doctoral program with a master's degree based on courses taken and the quality of the thesis completed at the previous institution.

Total Credit Hours Required: 38 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor's Degree
