As you wrap up the semester and finals are about to begin, we know how hard it can be to find a quiet space to study and focus on your classwork. We\u2019ve got you covered with the best on-campus study spaces at the Communication and Media Building, Dr. Phillips Academic Commons (DPAC), and UnionWest at Creative Village.<\/span><\/p>\n

Communication and Media Building<\/h2>\n

The Communication and Media Building is home to\u00a0the Nicholson School of Communication and Media.\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span>CMB features some outdoor seating with umbrellas which are perfect for cool days and catching some fresh air while studying. If you prefer to stay indoors, there\u2019s a large open study area in the lobby of the building. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can also head towards the back of the building where you\u2019ll find booth-style seating options \u2013 great for group studying! <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Want to head upstairs? There are some seats alongside the window on the 3<\/span>rd<\/span>\u00a0floor of CMB where you can\u00a0look\u00a0out over the courtyard and\u00a0palm trees while studying.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Phillips Academic Commons<\/h3>\n

The Dr. Phillips Academic Commons has four stories and is filled with open seating areas and quiet group study rooms.<\/i><\/p>\n

Starting off with the first floor, on both the East and West Wings of the building you have a bunch of seating options in the open areas. But if you want a room all for yourself, the East Wing group study rooms allow you to take advantage of quiet space with TV monitors, whiteboards, and USB outlets to create a productive study session.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2705 <\/span>Pro\u00a0Tip:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0You can also reserve these study rooms in advance to ensure the group study room you want is\u00a0available. Visit the\u00a0<\/span>Room Reservation Guide<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for more information.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Want to study with a view of the City Beautiful? Head upstairs to the second floor Library<\/a>, where you can sit either at a high-top table or alongside the window for a study session unlike any other. While you\u2019re there, check out books, dive into the database to get research done or use the printer to print your study guides.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Right across from the library you\u2019ll find the open area next to the Tech Lending desk where you can study in a glass room or on a study couch. Do you need a laptop to study? The Tech Lending desk is where you can borrow anything from a laptop, a calculator, or a charger. <\/span>Visit their website<\/span><\/a> for more information on items you can reserve.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the second floor West Wing of DPAC,\u00a0color and creativity unite\u00a0in the\u00a0Creativity Hallway which features a\u00a0neon\u00a0light\u00a0art installation\u00a0throughout the hallway.\u00a0Here you\u2019ll find comfortable lounge chairs with portable outlets, to give your studying a fun yet focused space\u00a0like no other.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Near the Creativity Hallway, there is an open study space that features an amazing and inspiring mural and couches for you to make yourself comfortable. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fun fact:\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b>If you go to the DPAC west wing corner study area in the afternoon, you can see the sunset! Just another perk of studying on campus. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside DPAC, there are two bridges that connect the West and East Wings without having to step outside. The 3<\/span>rd<\/span>\u00a0and 4<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0floor bridges make for a beautiful spot to study because of all the colors from the murals and the natural sunlight from the windows.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you want to sit in a tucked away gem,\u00a0the East Wing 3<\/span>rd<\/span> floor features soft block seating and USB plugs in the science classroom hallway. Just turn right when you come off the elevators. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ready to unleash your potential\u00a0on your finals? We have a study spot just for you! On the\u00a0West Wing\u00a03<\/span>rd<\/span>\u00a0floor\u00a0you\u2019ll find an open study area\u00a0with a hand painted mural\u00a0by Harry Foreman \u201918<\/a>,\u00a0that features both a view of downtown Orlando and beautiful colors all around the room.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

UnionWest at Creative Village<\/h3>\n

Grab a quick bite to f<\/em><\/span>uel your study session before heading upstairs to your study area.<\/em><\/p>\n

At\u00a0UnionWest, the 2<\/span>nd<\/span>\u00a0and 3<\/span>rd<\/span> floor\u00a0offer\u00a0open study spaces that highlight\u00a0The\u00a0City Beautiful all around. Look out through the windows to get a spectacular view of downtown Orlando while you take your pick of chair for studying \u2013 from\u00a0rocking egg chairs, long geometric sectionals,\u00a0couches, and traditional tables and chairs.\u00a0<\/span> \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

On the 3<\/span>rd<\/span> floor, past a few classrooms to the right, you\u2019ll also find another area with soft block seating alongside the windows.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
