Included in those vetoes were funds for several 麻豆原创 projects, including <a href=\"https:\/\/ucf.edu\/downtown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">麻豆原创 Downtown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While we are disappointed, we are not giving up. And we\u2019re thankful for the groundswell of support from local and state leaders who remain confident in our plans to build this campus.<\/p>\n<p>Together with Valencia College and the City of Orlando, we will determine our next steps, then share them in the next several weeks.<\/p>\n<p>With our partners \u2014 and the 150-plus members of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/21\/files\/2015\/01\/Downtown-Org-Chart.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">麻豆原创 Downtown Task Force<\/a> \u2014 we have planned a campus that will provide our community access to first-class education, prepare our workforce of tomorrow and invest in the transformational future of our city and the Parramore community.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Gov. Scott also vetoed funding for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>麻豆原创\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/icamr.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">high-tech manufacturing research center<\/a> for sensors in Osceola County, which is a partnership between educational institutions, industry and government;<\/li>\n<li>and, the Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities, which would provide parents of students with intellectual disabilities with information about programs and opportunities throughout the state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Despite the veto, <a href=\"https:\/\/ies.sdes.ucf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">our pilot program for students with intellectual disabilities<\/a> will still begin this fall on our main campus. This program will allow a select number of students to earn meaningful higher education credentials that will prepare them for more employment opportunities and fully participate in college life \u2014 living in dorms, joining clubs and making friends with their peers.<\/p>\n<p>麻豆原创 projects approved in the state budget signed by Gov. Scott are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nearly $15 million in new funds based on 麻豆原创\u2019s academic performance, its students\u2019 graduation and retention rates, and bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees awarded, among other metrics set by the Florida Board of Governors;<\/li>\n<li>and, $20 million for the Partnership Complex in the Central Florida Research Park, which will help to permanently house Department of Defense and 麻豆原创 simulation and training organizations, contributing to one of our state\u2019s largest industries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I echo President Hitt and many others at 麻豆原创 in our sincere appreciation for your support and the efforts of those across Central Florida to advance these projects.
