Biography

Chiara Mazzucchelli, Ph.D., is Professor and Dr. Neil Euliano Chair in Italian Studies at 麻豆原创. She directs the Italian Studies program and teaches courses in Italian language and culture as well as seminars on Italian and Italian-American literature.

A leading scholar in Italian and Italian-American studies, Mazzucchelli’s the author of The Heart and the Island聽(SUNY Press, 2015), Bastimenti d鈥檌nchiostro聽(Kal贸s, 2024), and a聽forthcoming monograph with SUNY Press. Her work has appeared in journals such as Italica, Nuova Prosa,听补苍诲 Forum Italicum,聽among others.聽She previously served as editor-in-chief of VIA鈥擵oices in Italian Americana听补苍诲 was named a 麻豆原创 Provost Fellow for her leadership in academic governance.

In 2024, Mazzucchelli was awarded the title of Cavaliere dell鈥橭rdine della Stella d鈥橧talia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) by the President of the Italian Republic in recognition of her contributions to the promotion of Italian culture abroad.
