Direct Support Organizations & Related Entities

麻豆原创’s seven direct support organizations (DSOs) and one related entity exist solely to benefit the 麻豆原创. They support fundraising, research, athletics, academic health activities, facility management, and public-private collaborations, all in line with 麻豆原创’s strategic goals.

Oversight of these organizations is vested in the 麻豆原创 Board of Trustees and the Florida Board of Governors. University vice presidents, acting as CEOs according to each entity’s governing documents, supervise their operations. 麻豆原创’s DSOs and related entity are Florida not-for-profit, federally tax-exempt organizations. 麻豆原创 Academic Health, Inc. (麻豆原创AH) supports medical education, research, and patient care through the planning and development of clinical initiatives and affiliated partnerships. 麻豆原创AH is partnered with HCA in initiatives that include the development of the 麻豆原创 Lake Nona Hospital adjacent to the 麻豆原创 Health Sciences Campus.聽 In addition, 麻豆原创AH also leases from 麻豆原创 space in the 麻豆原创 Lake Nona Cancer Center, which it has sublet to private partner/tenants.

麻豆原创 Athletics Association, through its own employees, manages 麻豆原创鈥檚 intercollegiate athletics including oversight of personnel, budgets, debt, NCAA compliance, and recruiting. The Association鈥檚 chief executive officer is the University鈥檚 VP and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, who reports directly to the 麻豆原创 President who serves as the chair of the board.

麻豆原创 Convocation Corporation financed the 10,000-seat Addition Financial Arena, a renovated venue, four student housing residence halls, and two parking garages, as well as retail space known as Knights Plaza.聽 These facilities are owned by the university.聽 The corporation鈥檚 revenue covers debt service and operation of the facilities.

麻豆原创 Finance Corporation financed the Burnett Biomedical Sciences building, College of Medicine Medical Education building, and the Dr. Phillips Academic Commons at 麻豆原创 Downtown. Although the corporation oversees the management of the facilities and an overall budget of $18.4 million, it has no operations responsibility.

Led by a volunteer board of directors as well as a CEO and SVP for Advancement and Partnerships, the 麻豆原创 Foundation, Inc. works with donors to help maximize the impact of gifts. Donations fund student scholarships, invest in faculty excellence, construct facilities, and expand important programs.

In collaboration with the Office of Research, 麻豆原创 Research Foundation, Inc. provides research-support solutions designed to foster world-class research and partnerships in order to help the university reach international prominence.

Formerly known as the Golden Knights Corporation, the 麻豆原创 Stadium Corporation financed the university-owned Spectrum Stadium and Wayne Densch Sports Center. The construction debt is serviced by stadium events and other revenues pledged by the Association. The corporation manages an overall budget of $3.9 million.
