Fifteen DirectConnect to 麻豆原创 Students Honored as Johnson Scholars

麻豆原创 student Kiana Boodram was recognized as a 2016-2017 Johnson Scholar by Bobby Krause of the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and 麻豆原创 President John C. Hitt at a February 22 ceremony on the 麻豆原创 campus.

Fifteen students from the 麻豆原创 and four partnership colleges 鈥� Eastern Florida State College, Lake-Sumter State College, Seminole State College of Florida and Valencia College 鈥� were honored as Johnson Scholars in a February 22 ceremony on the 麻豆原创 campus.

The students are the third class of Johnson Scholars, named in recognition of the scholarship program initiated by the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and geared toward DirectConnect to 麻豆原创 students.

鈥淜nowing someone is willing to invest in my academic career because they strongly believe that I will be successful one day is truly inspiring and motivational,鈥� said recipient Daniel Salas, a 麻豆原创 student who received the scholarship while attending Valencia College. 鈥淭he Johnson Scholarship has assisted me greatly through a significant portion of my undergraduate career as I continue to prepare myself for medical school.鈥�
