Comedian Daniel Tosh, ’96 Among Five Alums Honored

Five College of Business Administration graduates were honored at the �鶹ԭ�� Alumni Association’s Black and Gold gala. Congratulations to:

Stephanie Pataky, ’05 (pictured), and Jennifer C. Hartzler, ’06 and ’07, received the Rising Star Award. Pataky is the district manager of CompuPay, Inc; Hartzler is associate (dispute resolution/international arbitration) at Herbert Smith LLP in London.

Stan Horton, ’73, received the Professional Achievement Award. He is a College of Business Administration Hall of Fame member and president and CEO of Boardline Pipeline Partners.

Karl Hodges, ’82, received the Service to �鶹ԭ�� Award for his service on several �鶹ԭ�� boards and committees.

Daniel Tosh, ’96, the well-known comedian and host of Comedy Central’s Tosh.0, received the Michelle Akers Award for the global recognition that he brings to �鶹ԭ��.

In addition to the alumni, international business student Melissa Blette, received the Distinguished Student Award.

The Black and Gold gala is held each year during Homecoming Week.

Comedian Daniel Tosh Spotted at �鶹ԭ��

Comedian Daniel Tosh was spotted in the Orlando area on Tuesday at the �鶹ԭ��. Tosh was born in Germany but grew up in Titusville and is currently the host of Comedy Central’s “ Tosh.0 ”

Tosh simply tweeted that he was on campus at the Reflecting Pond, and nearly 300 people showed up. He spent almost three hours chatting and taking pictures with his fans.

Tosh is an alumnus of �鶹ԭ��, having graduated in 1996 with a degree in marketing. After graduating, he began touring the comedy club circuit and made several television appearances, including his own stand-up special. He landed his own television show, Tosh.0, in 2009. The show features popular viral videos from the Internet.

Titusville's Daniel Tosh Wins Second Season on Comedy Central

Daniel Tosh has won several votes of confidence from Comedy Central: The channel has ordered a second season of his “Tosh.0,” and he will shoot a one-hour stand-up special.

The second season of “Tosh.0″ starts Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 10:30 p.m.

Twenty-five episodes were ordered – Comedy Central’s largest single-season order ever for a weekly series.

Tosh grew up in Titusville and graduated from the �鶹ԭ��. In “Tosh.0,” he mixes Internet clips and a comedy style he has called “casual and unprofessional.”

Earlier this year, Tosh acknowledged he had a lousy record of shooting a dozen failed pilots, most of which he called awful. This time is different, though.

“They’re letting me tell the jokes I want,” Tosh said then of Comedy Central. “They’re not being overly controlling.”

Comedy Central said the stand-up special will be subsequently released with extended material on DVD and CD.

Congratulations to Daniel. His holiday presents arrived early this year.
