The conference, held last week, promotes higher education exchanges by providing an opportunity for Florida and Taiwan university representatives to discuss exchange students, joint degrees and research cooperation.

President Ma shared his personal experience as an exchange student in the United States during his junior year in college. Upon graduation, he returned to the United States to further his studies. International education and academic interaction can have a long-lasting impact on students, he said.
