Prior to joining Â鶹ԭ´´ on Aug. 1, Buckwalter has served as provost at Boise State University, where he led transformative interdisciplinary initiatives and championed student achievement.

Â鶹ԭ´´ joins the Systems Engineering Research Center, a University Affiliated Research Center consortium at the Stevens Institute of Technology, to leverage U.S. Department of Defense funding for impactful research.

The tour highlighted Â鶹ԭ´´â€™s role as SpaceU and reaffirmed critical partnerships with USSPACECOM to advance research and innovation.

The tour included visits with the Institute for Simulation and Training, the College of Optics and Photonics and the Center of Excellence in Hypersonic and Space Propulsion.

College teams, including a group of Knights, will build robot rovers and compete at the new Regolith Bin at Â鶹ԭ´´’s Exolith Lab before the best crews advance to finals at Kennedy Space Center.

This is the 11th year that Â鶹ԭ´´ has ranked in the top 100 universities in the world for patents.

The U.S. National Science Foundation award will allow for the creation of a Venture Lab to connect Â鶹ԭ´´ researchers with local industry, investors and entrepreneurs.

Professor John Weishampel this month started a two-year-appointment at the National Science Foundation in Washington D.C.
