{"id":103126,"date":"2019-09-30T09:30:47","date_gmt":"2019-09-30T13:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=103126"},"modified":"2023-09-26T09:30:23","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T13:30:23","slug":"ucf-to-test-emergency-communication-tools-wednesday-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-to-test-emergency-communication-tools-wednesday-2\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆原创 to Test Emergency Communication Tools Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>麻豆原创&#8217;s preparations for potential emergency situations include regular tests of the communication tools that provide critical information to the 麻豆原创 community.<\/p>\n<p>Several of those 麻豆原创 Alert communication tools will be tested Oct. 2.<\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the testing, students and faculty and staff members are encouraged to log in to my麻豆原创 and review their 麻豆原创 Alert settings to ensure that contact information (email, cell phone number and mobile provider) is correct.<\/p>\n<p>The emergency communication functions that will be tested Oct. 2 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outdoor sirens, which emit a tone followed by voice instructions, will be tested at noon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The 麻豆原创 website will be tested from noon to 1 p.m. For most of the testing time, the 麻豆原创 home page will remain active and fully functional with an alert bar at the top of the page. All messages on the alert bar will be marked as tests. A portion of the website test will involve replacing the regular home page with an entirely text-only home page that may be used during some emergencies. When that text-only page is active, users will not be able to access links typically found on the 麻豆原创 home page. Although other 麻豆原创 web pages will not be impacted by the test, users may want to bookmark those pages in advance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A test emergency text and email will be sent around 1 p.m. All members of the 麻豆原创 community whose 麻豆原创 Alert contact information is up to date and who have not opted out of receiving emergency messages should receive both. 麻豆原创 Mobile app users who have opted into push notifications also will receive a message through the app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Indoor sirens that emit tones followed by voice instructions will be briefly tested in more than 70 buildings starting at 3 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 麻豆原创 Alert testing also will include social media. For consistent updates and information in an emergency, follow 麻豆原创 and the 麻豆原创 Police Department on Twitter\u00a0and Facebook. These are helpful resources for the 麻豆原创 community every day and become official resources for information during emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the 麻豆原创 Alert system, visit <a
