David Fukuda<\/a>,\u00a0an associate\u00a0professor\u00a0and\u00a0Division of Kinesiology<\/a>\u00a0chair, has been awarded Fellow status by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.<\/p>\n

National Strength and Conditioning Association\u00a0Fellows are an accomplished group of professionals who promote excellence and leadership within the NSCA.\u00a0Fukuda was selected for this honor based upon his frequent and sustained contributions to the strength and conditioning profession, which have\u00a0promoted and supported the goals and activities\u00a0of the NSCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely honored to be\u00a0named\u00a0an NSCA\u00a0Fellow,\u201d Fukuda says. \u201cThe NSCA has been impactful on my career and the organization continues to play a major role in the development\u00a0of our students through\u00a0various\u00a0support\u00a0mechanisms\u00a0and\u00a0networking opportunities, while providing an avenue through which we can share the results of our research.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fukuda has devoted his career to scholarship within the field of\u00a0kinesiology. He has developed\u00a0niche\u00a0expertise\u00a0in athlete assessment and performance,\u00a0specifically in the field of martial arts. In addition to leading undergraduate and graduate programs in\u00a0kinesiology\u00a0and\u00a0exercise\u00a0physiology at 麻豆原创, Fukuda has also had national and international impact in the field through his scholarly contributions, including numerous peer-reviewed journal articles,\u00a0an\u00a0authored textbook, Assessments for Sport and Athletic Performance<\/em>, and various presentations on related topics.<\/p>\n

Fukuda also helps further the field of\u00a0kinesiology\u00a0by mentoring future generations of scholars in the field. Fukuda has served as faculty advisor on numerous master\u2019s\u00a0theses\u00a0and doctoral dissertations in his role at 麻豆原创.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid is a top scholar in our\u00a0School and certainly even nationwide,\u201d says Jeffrey Stout, director of the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy. \u201cThis is a well-deserved honor that acknowledges his contributions to furthering the science in the field of strength and conditioning.\u201d<\/p>\n
