{"id":12154,"date":"2010-04-22T11:08:49","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T15:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=12154"},"modified":"2024-02-09T11:53:51","modified_gmt":"2024-02-09T16:53:51","slug":"green-fever-at-ucf-its-contagious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/green-fever-at-ucf-its-contagious\/","title":{"rendered":"Green Fever at 麻豆原创: It&#039;s Contagious"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/p>\n<p>Green fever is spreading at the 麻豆原创 &#8212; and saving thousands of dollars in energy costs &#8212; as more students, faculty and staff are pledging to do their part to help 麻豆原创 become climate neutral.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Earth Day, will serve as a launching pad for individuals to commit to 麻豆原创&#8217;s long-term sustainability initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The Rosen College of Hospitality Management is the first 麻豆原创 college to announce its plan to go green and reduce its consumption of water, electricity and natural gas by 10 to 20 percent in one year. 麻豆原创&#8217;s Sustainability and Energy Management department is administering the challenge, working with Rosen College&#8217;s Energy Conservation Task Force. The college&#8217;s progress will be tracked online.<\/p>\n<p>麻豆原创 saved $41,240 in energy costs and enough energy to power 350 homes for a month during its &#8220;Kill-A-Watt&#8221; energy savings competition.
