{"id":122579,"date":"2021-08-26T16:08:52","date_gmt":"2021-08-26T20:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=122579"},"modified":"2021-08-26T16:08:52","modified_gmt":"2021-08-26T20:08:52","slug":"ucf-appoints-interim-deputy-chief-information-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-appoints-interim-deputy-chief-information-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆原创 Appoints Interim Deputy Chief Information Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>H<strong>enry &#8220;Hank&#8221; Glaspie \u201905MS \u201914MS \u201918PhD <\/strong>has been selected as interim deputy chief information officer for planning and operations in 麻豆原创&#8217;s Office of the CIO.<\/p>\n<p>Glaspie most recently served as the cyber risk and compliance program manager in the 麻豆原创 Office of Research. He also has been the director of information technology for the 麻豆原创 College of Medicine and the IT manager for the 麻豆原创 Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>In making the appointment, Matt Hall, 麻豆原创 vice president for Information Technology and CIO, says Glaspie&#8217;s extensive IT background and more than 25 years of leadership experience at 麻豆原创 and elsewhere made him a strong choice. Glaspie&#8217;s previous roles outside 麻豆原创 include serving with the College of Central Florida as associate vice president of information technology and CIO; the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, as director of information technology; and the University of Hawaii as director of information technology.<\/p>\n<p>Glaspie also served for eight years as a U.S. Naval officer in logistics support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dr. Glaspie is critical to planning the future of information technology at 麻豆原创,&#8221; Hall says. &#8220;He&#8217;s a veteran of 麻豆原创, a Navy veteran, and possesses an amazing personality that brings people together in a consensus-building and collaborative way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Glaspie earned a B.S. degree in information engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati and a B.A. in applied mathematics from Hampton University. He has earned three graduate degrees and a graduate certification from 麻豆原创: a Ph.D. in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/modeling-and-simulation-phd\/\">modeling and simulation<\/a>, master&#8217;s degrees in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/modeling-and-simulation-ms\/\">modeling and simulation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/industrial-engineering-bsie\/\">industrial engineering<\/a>, and a graduate certificate in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/computer-forensics-certificate\/\">computer forensics and digital security<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Glaspie says he looks forward to working cross-departmentally and establishing relationships throughout the university to help improve technology and the customer experience across campus, particularly for students and the faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;麻豆原创 has been a shining example across higher education with how we have grown the educational and research missions before and during the pandemic,&#8221; Glaspie says. &#8220;I am hoping to work with our
