For some, this graduation ceremony has been delayed more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>Spring, Summer and Fall 2020 grads representing each of 麻豆原创\u2019s 13 colleges have registered for the ceremony, which will take place Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. at Addition Financial Arena and be livestreamed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCbNaDD08DoM7VxfEhEX9uhA\">麻豆原创\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Darin Edwards \u201997 \u201910MS \u201911PhD<\/strong> \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/pegasus\/covid-19-big-shot\/\">led the charge to create Moderna\u2019s mRNA COVID-19 vaccine<\/a> \u2014 will serve as the keynote speaker for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/lp\/2020-graduation-celebration\/\">the 2020 Graduation Celebration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed oembed oembed-video d-flex flex-column align-items-center\">\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9\"><noscript><iframe title=\"Class of 2020 Make-Up Ceremony\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zNWWCISgyn0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><iframe title=\"Class of 2020 Make-Up Ceremony\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zNWWCISgyn0?feature=oembed\" class=\" lazyload\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In 2020, the Florida Board of Governors required all of Florida\u2019s state universities to hold virtual commencement ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 麻豆原创 conferred more than 18,000 degrees during its 2020 virtual commencement ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, graduates will cross the stage during the traditional Pomp and Circumstance processional as their names are called. Each graduate is allowed up to four guests in attendance. <a href=\"https:\/\/registrar.ucf.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2021\/11\/FINAL_FINAL_Class-of-2020-Make-up-Program_10.29.21_8.05am.pdf\">A copy of the commencement program can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to participate in the Nov. 5 ceremony has passed. Additionally, he directs the immunology team in support of vaccine development programs and foundational research efforts, and leads work with external academic and industry collaborators including Moderna\u2019s collaborative research efforts with the National Institute of Health, WHO, and Harvard\u2019s pathogenesis working group.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining Moderna in June 2019, Edwards served eight years for Sanofi Pasteur in Orlando, where he worked to develop vaccines against infectious diseases, including RSV, influenza, dengue, and yellow fever.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards is a much-published researcher and academic speaker.&nbsp;Through his educational background at 麻豆原创, combined with his years&nbsp;of experience working on the development of next-generation vaccine&nbsp;technology, he has had the unique opportunity to make a&nbsp;direct and positive impact on global health.<\/p>\n<p>He earned a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/biology-bs\/\">bachelor\u2019s in&nbsp;biology<\/a>, a master\u2019s in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/biology-ms\/'\">molecular&nbsp;biology and microbiology<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/biomedical-sciences-phd\/\">doctorate in&nbsp;biomolecular sciences<\/a> from 麻豆原创, where he was also a <a href=\"https:\/\/honors.ucf.edu\/\">Burnett Honors Scholar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The health and well-being of all 麻豆原创 graduates and their guests are the top priority of the university. Face coverings are expected while indoors for all attendees \u2014 whether vaccinated or not, in accordance with&nbsp;the latest CDC
