Your compassion for our students and dedication to the work we do here make us a better institution. I am very proud that we have continued our forward momentum and that we look to the future with a commitment to compassion and care.<\/p>\n<p>Because of your efforts, we are building a strong foundation for our future and we have so much to celebrate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive-16by9\">\n<div class=\"embed oembed oembed-video d-flex flex-column align-items-center\">\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9\"><noscript><iframe title=\"2021 麻豆原创 YEAR IN REVIEW\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/68JBPo9paCw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><iframe title=\"2021 麻豆原创 YEAR IN REVIEW\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/68JBPo9paCw?feature=oembed\" class=\" lazyload\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The excellence you have helped shape was recognized in big ways this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The Seal of Excelencia for our efforts to serve our Hispanic and Latina\/o\/x students;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The largest gift in 麻豆原创\u2019s history \u2014 $40 million \u2014 to fuel student success;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">And the invitation to join the Big 12 athletic conference.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, as always, you continued to create and innovate. This year, faculty:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/flying-at-speeds-up-to-mach-16-could-become-reality-with-ucfs-developing-propulsion-system\/\">Pushed the limits of supersonic flight with a new propulsion system<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-team-develops-artificial-intelligence-that-can-detect-sarcasm-in-social-media\/\">Used artificial intelligence to detect sarcasm in social media<\/a>;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/legendary-sargasso-sea-may-be-sea-turtles-destination-during-mysterious-lost-years\/\">And worked to solve one of the ocean\u2019s most curious sea turtle mysteries<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Because of accomplishments like these, our rankings continue to rise, jumping 12 spots for overall academic excellence this year \u2014 one of only three universities to improve its national ranking each of the last five years, according to U.S. News &amp; World Report. We also were again recognized as one of the Most Innovative Schools in the country and as a rising leader in social mobility.<\/p>\n<p>I am grateful to each of you who are committed to the transformational work we do here, and I am grateful to those who matched that commitment with the hard work and dedication that is pushing us to even greater heights. As we work toward building the university for the future, we must ensure we have not only the tools to be exceptional but also the climate and culture that positions us all to look forward with great anticipation to 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for all that you do. I hope you use the upcoming time off to spend time with your families, recharge, and celebrate all we have accomplished.
