Family, friends and 麻豆原创 Police officers and staff welcomed four new officers to the department at a swearing-in ceremony in July.<\/p>\n
This group features two 麻豆原创 alumni who were also former 麻豆原创 employees, along with a former professional basketball player and an officer with previous law enforcement experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt takes a special kind of person to be a 麻豆原创 police officer,\u201d says 麻豆原创 Police Chief Carl Metzger ’03MS<\/strong>. \u201cMost people can\u2019t \u2014 or won\u2019t \u2014 do it. I expect our officers to do the right thing, always. This can be a tough job but I have the utmost faith that these four are up to the challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n At their swearing-in ceremony, Deputy Chief Robin Griffin-Kitzerow offered her words of wisdom for the new officers.<\/p>\n \u201cOn my desk I have a plaque that says, \u2018Be the reason people believe in good people\u2019 and I challenge you to be the reason people believe in good cops,\u201d says Griffin-Kitzerow. \u201cWe get the opportunity every single day to make a difference, a positive difference, in somebody\u2019s life. Offer guidance, kindness, compassion, support and everything that they would expect in a rescuer and you\u2019ll be just fine.\u201d<\/p>\n The new officers are:<\/p>\n
