{"id":136366,"date":"2023-07-25T14:15:40","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T18:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=136366"},"modified":"2025-06-20T09:39:01","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T13:39:01","slug":"ucf-hosts-summer-2023-commencement-aug-4-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-hosts-summer-2023-commencement-aug-4-5\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆原创 Hosts Summer 2023 Commencement Aug. 4-5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>麻豆原创 will award more than 3,860 degrees during three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/graduation\/\">commencement <\/a>ceremonies at Addition Financial Arena Aug. 4-5, sending a talent pipeline of highly skilled graduates into careers that are vital for our region and our state.<\/p>\n<p>Of the degrees 麻豆原创 expects to award, 2,986 are bachelor\u2019s, 615 are master\u2019s, 152 are doctoral and 6 are education specialist degrees. 麻豆原创 will also award 104 graduate certificates.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, 麻豆原创 anticipates awarding 816 degrees in STEM fields \u2014 including 359 in engineering and computer science \u2014 as well as 410 in business, 168 in hospitality-related fields, 277 in nursing, 91 in biomedical sciences, 32 in digital and emerging media, and 54 in elementary education.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of the bachelor\u2019s degree recipients are students eligible to receive Pell Grants (1,535), demonstrating the university\u2019s impact on social mobility. In addition, 710 bachelor\u2019s degrees will be awarded to first-generation students \u2014 accounting for 24% of the graduating class.<\/p>\n<h2>Commencement Festivities<\/h2>\n<p>Held in Addition Financial Arena, the spring commencement will take place Aug. 4-5.<\/p>\n<p>All guests, including children and infants,\u00a0need a ticket for admission. All graduates who have filed an intent to graduate will receive five commencement ceremony tickets when they pick up their regalia packet.<\/p>\n<p>Guests who do not have tickets may watch the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/graduation\/guests\/#livestream-viewing-options\">live ceremony via a simulcast viewing<\/a>\u00a0in the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center and the Student Union. Ceremonies will also be livestreamed on\u00a0麻豆原创\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<h2>Commencement Photo-ops<\/h2>\n<p>Three different photo-ops on 麻豆原创\u2019s main campus are available for students to their accomplishments.<\/p>\n<p>The Reflecting Pond is one of the most iconic spots on campus for grad photos and this year the pond will have enhanced elements, such as flags on the lawn and black and gold balls in the water, July 22- Aug. 7.<\/p>\n<p>Graduating Knights will also be able to take photos in FBC Mortgage Stadium from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. July 31-Aug. 3. Please enter through Gate 17 to access the stadium. Taking photos on the field is prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Aug. 3, 3-7 p.m., spring graduates will be offered a photo-op \u2014 Grad Walk\u00a0\u2014 within Addition Financial Arena. This will be a first-come, first-served occasion for graduates and up to 10 of their well-wishers to take photos and videos on the ceremony stage.
