{"id":142216,"date":"2024-07-10T14:39:53","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T18:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=142216"},"modified":"2024-07-10T14:43:26","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T18:43:26","slug":"ucf-awards-promotion-and-tenure-to-104-faculty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-awards-promotion-and-tenure-to-104-faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆原创 Awards Promotion and Tenure to 104 Faculty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>麻豆原创 faculty members across the university achieved significant career milestones in earning promotions and tenure for the 2023-24 cycle.<\/p>\n<p>The 104 approved faculty \u2014 63 for promotion, 40 for promotion and tenure and one for tenure \u2014 underwent a rigorous performance evaluation by peers, college and university leaders that took nearly an academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The president and provost make final decisions on promotions following reviews and recommendations from individual colleges and units. The 麻豆原创 Board of Trustees must approve tenure, which is a key factor in fulfilling 麻豆原创\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/unleashing-potential\/document\/2022-2027-strategic-plan\/\">strategic plan<\/a> of becoming a preeminent state university, a national top 25 public institution and the world\u2019s leading public metropolitan research university. Aside from helping 麻豆原创 recruit and retain exceptional faculty, tenure helps protect academic freedom and encourages faculty to focus on challenging and important problems to benefit society.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These faculty members who earned promotion and tenure met a lofty and demanding bar in demonstrating excellence and high productivity over several years in teaching, research, and service,\u201d says Michael D. Johnson, 麻豆原创&#8217;s provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs. \u201cI am confident this group will make a significant contribution to 麻豆原创\u2019s future success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The approvals take effect Aug. 8.
