麻豆原创 spotlighted more than 240 faculty members for academic excellence and service Wednesday at the 2025 Founders\u2019 Day Faculty Honors Celebration in the Student Union\u2019s Pegasus Ballroom.<\/p>\n
The celebration honored recipients of the\u202fPegasus Professor Award<\/a>, 麻豆原创\u2019s highest faculty honor; the\u202fReach for the Stars Award<\/a>; the recipient of the\u202fMedal of Societal Impact award<\/a>; the inaugural Big 12 Faculty Member of the Year Award<\/a>, university excellence award winners; those who recently reached 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service; a Faculty Senate service award; faculty granted\u202femeritus\u202f<\/em>or\u202femerita\u202f<\/em>status; and retired faculty members.<\/p>\n The event also included the announcement of this year\u2019s faculty Champion of Student Success and Well-Being Award, which went to Manoj Chopra, professor and associate dean of Undergraduate Affairs in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and a special presentation of provost emeritus<\/em> status to Michael D. Johnson, 麻豆原创\u2019s provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs. Johnson, 麻豆原创\u2019s provost since 2020, will retire this summer after 35 years at 麻豆原创 in various teaching and leadership roles.<\/p>\n The faculty event was part of a Founders\u2019 Day Celebration\u202fthat also included separate employee and staff recognition ceremonies.
