This Halloween season, 麻豆原创 Conservatory Theatre presents a thrilling production of \u201cDracula\u201d by Hamilton Deane. This spooky performance opens Thursday, Oct. 21, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 31, on 麻豆原创\u2019s main campus.<\/p>\n
Based on the novel by Bram Stoker, \u201cDracula\u201d tells the chilling story of a woman who becomes mysteriously anemic, and a Dr. Van Helsing who believes that a vampire is the cause. The play is a quest to confound the suspected foe Count Dracula and is full of supernatural shudders and surprises.<\/p>\n
Theatre professor Donald Seay, who won a Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival directing award for last year\u2019s 麻豆原创 production of \u201cProof,\u201d selected Deane\u2019s version of \u201cDracula\u201d to direct. \u201cThere have been so many TV and movie versions that were only loosely based on the novel,\u201d he said. \u201cThis version is compact and encompasses most of the original story.\u201d<\/p>\n
Seay adds that his production will reveal the vampire\u2019s plans, how they unfold and how the characters will stop him.<\/p>\n
\u201cDracula\u201d runs Thursday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 24, and Thursday, Oct. 28, through Sunday, Oct. 31, in the Main Stage theatre. All shows begin at 8 p.m., except for Sunday matinees, which start at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
Ticket prices are $19 for adults, $17 for seniors and $12 for students with their IDs.<\/p>\n
