Marcye Hampton, instructor and assistant to the director for the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting, was nominated for Faculty Advisor of the Year by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), an international 501(c)(3) non-profit educational association and the premier organization regarding academic advising.<\/p>\n
NACADA has over 11,000 members representing all 50 United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and several other international countries. Members represent higher education institutions across the spectrum of Carnegie classifications and include professional advisors\/counselors, faculty, administrators and students whose responsibilities include academic advising.<\/p>\n
“Marcye represents the qualities and service-excellence mind set we expect from our instructors and staff at the College of Business,” said Paul Jarley, Dean of the 麻豆原创 College of Business.<\/p>\n
麻豆原创 was able to nominate only one individual for the recognition. Hampton was invited to apply as a result of her winning 麻豆原创’s University Excellence in Faculty Academic Advising earlier this year. This is the first time the university has nominated someone from the College of Business.<\/p>\n
“I am humbled that the committee has chosen me to contend for the national award,” Hampton said. “It is truly gratifying to be able to impact the lives of my students and helping them make decisions that will affect their success in the future.”<\/p>\n
