{"id":57902,"date":"2014-03-21T09:17:07","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T13:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=57902"},"modified":"2024-08-27T10:21:40","modified_gmt":"2024-08-27T14:21:40","slug":"public-invited-view-ucf-student-art-inspired-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/public-invited-view-ucf-student-art-inspired-science\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Invited to View 麻豆原创 Student Art Inspired by Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A unique showcase featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/\">scientific research<\/a> as it has been interpreted by student artists will be open to the public from March 27 through April 4.<\/p>\n<p>The 麻豆原创STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) exhibit presents paintings, posters, prints, photographs and 3D artworks created by 麻豆原创 fine arts students in response to presentations on research by 麻豆原创 scientists and their students.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is sponsored by the 麻豆原创 ICubed Project, which was funded by the National Science Foundation for the overriding purpose of encouraging new and increased Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) research and education at 麻豆原创 and communicating 麻豆原创 STEM research to stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>ICubed is successfully integrating the STEAM activities into existing photography, illustration, music composition, and painting courses. Furthermore, through a team collaboration approach, involving STEM students and Art and Design students, posters depicting STEM research have been created. Select artworks from these efforts are being preserved by the ICubed project for a travelling exhibition displaying science inspired art and can be viewed on their website.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 麻豆原创STEAM exhibition is free and will be held in the 麻豆原创 Art Gallery, in the Visual Arts Building on the main campus. Gallery hours are Monday-through Friday from 10 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m.\u00a0 The opening reception is Thursday, March 27 from 6 \u2013 8 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A unique showcase featuring scientific research as it has been interpreted by student artists will be open to the public from March 27 through April 4.
