麻豆原创\u2019s International Services Center and International Student Association are showing select games of the FIFA World Cup tournament through July 9 at the Barbara Ying Center.<\/p>\n
The viewings are free to attend and are shown in the activity room on a 150-inch LCD projector screen. Snacks and drinks are provided, and the 麻豆原创 community is welcome to attend. The Barbara Ying Center is located on the main campus off Central Florida Boulevard, near the Academic Village student housing.<\/p>\n
The two groups want to use soccer\u2019s international following to promote unity among 麻豆原创 students. With more than 3,500 international students representing nearly 150\u00a0 nations at 麻豆原创, the viewings provide a place for students of different backgrounds to communicate and bond over some fun and healthy competition. This is the third time the organizations have hosted the event, which is held every four years.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe World Cup is a premier event which engages and touches people from around the world.\u00a0 ISC’s mission is to support international students and scholars at 麻豆原创 and celebrating these types of events helps to engage our students with each other and the larger 麻豆原创 community,\u201d said Mark Hartman, the center\u2019s associate director.<\/p>\n
Attendees are encouraged to show team spirit, and flags, team jerseys, hair dye and face paint are all welcome.<\/p>\n
