So the doctors at 麻豆原创 Pegasus Health, the College of Medicine\u2019s physician practice, have developed a series of seminars that cover many of the most common health and safety concerns expressed by their patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it comes to your health, knowledge is critically important,\u201d said Joyce Paulson, M.D., a board-certified internal medicine physician at <a href=\"http:\/\/ucfpegasushealth.org\">麻豆原创 Pegasus Health<\/a> and assistant professor at the <a href=\"https:\/\/med.ucf.edu\/\">College of Medicine<\/a>. \u201cUnfortunately, so many people feel overwhelmed with the plethora of information, misinformation and conflicting reports that they simply don\u2019t know where to turn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 麻豆原创 Pegasus Health Seminar Series was developed to help bridge the gap between medical science and useful information consumers can consider when making informed decisions about their healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The series is free to the public and will begin in October. All sessions will be held at 麻豆原创 Pegasus Health, located at 3400 Quadrangle Blvd., Orlando, FL 32817\u2014on the corner of University Blvd., just blocks from the main 麻豆原创 campus. Seminars will be led by medical providers and experts from the community on a number of topics, including:<\/p>\n<li>Decoding Vitamins &amp; Minerals\u2013A to Zinc<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and Managing Pre-diabetes<\/li>\n<li>Accurate Blood Pressure Monitoring At Home<\/li>\n<li>Helping Teens Develop Healthy Habits for a Lifetime<\/li>\n<li>How to be a Good Healthcare Consumer<\/li>\n<li>Preparing to Care for Aging Parents<\/li>\n<li>Psychological Strategies for Making Healthy Behavioral Changes<\/li>\n<li>Cyber Security 101: What Every Child (and parent) Should Know Before Going Online<\/li>\n<p>To view a complete list of topics and register, visit http:\/\/ucfpegasushealth.org\/. Space is limited, so registration is strongly advised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMedicine is dynamic, always changing and evolving. And while it\u2019s important to be informed, you should avoid jumping on the latest bandwagon,\u201d said Dr. Paulson. \u201cPatients don\u2019t have to spend a great deal of time researching medical issues, but I do recommend they know enough to participate in a dialogue about their health and make informed decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen people are actively engage in their own healthcare\u2014from taking measures to prevent diseases to researching treatment options\u2014we know they experience better outcomes. That\u2019s why this series is so important. As part of the College of Medicine, we\u2019re physician educators training the next generation of doctors.
