Students, faculty and staff members, and the community are welcome to attend the training sessions and events.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, local, state and federal emergency responders will showcase their emergency vehicles and tools on Memory Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Highlights include a helicopter, a DUI simulator, K-9 demonstrations and much more.<\/p>\n<p>麻豆原创 will conduct this semester\u2019s testing of the 麻豆原创 Alert campus notification system on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Special courses\u2014including CPR, women\u2019s self-defense and storm spotter training&#8211; will be offered throughout the week. All classes are free unless otherwise designated. They include:<\/p>\n<li><strong>CPR\/AED:<\/strong> 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 28, Student Union Room 222. This class is designed to teach people how to perform CPR and properly use an AED. This class costs $15.<\/li>\n<li><strong>S.A.F.E. Women&#8217;s Self-Defense:<\/strong> 10 a.m. to noon Monday, March 28, Student Union Room 223. This class provides women with information that may reduce the risk of violence by showing them the physical aspects of self-defense.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shots Fired: A Survival Mindset: <\/strong>1 to 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, Student Union Room 220. Shots Fired is a training program designed to empower people with knowledge and strategies for preventing and surviving an active shooter situation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Storm Spotters:<\/strong> Tuesday, March 29, 10 a.m. to noon, Emergency Operations Center (On Libra Drive across from the 麻豆原创 Police Department). This class provides a comprehensive overview about the fundamentals of severe weather spotting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>IS-100 Incident Command System (ICS) Intro:<\/strong> Tuesday, March 29, 1 to 5 p.m., EOC. Introduction to the ICS level 100 provides the foundation for any higher level ICS training.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hurricane Preparedness 101:<\/strong> Thursday, March 31, 9 to 10 a.m., Student Union Room 220. This course will teach the basics of hurricane preparedness and will give citizens the tools they need to prepare and prevent unnecessary losses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Police Department Town Hall:<\/strong> 11 a.m. to noon, Thursday, March 31, Student Union Room 220. This is an open forum that allows students to engage with 麻豆原创PD to voice concerns, issues or questions as it relates to policing, affiliated resources and the community.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How to Help Someone in a Crisis:<\/strong> 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, Student Union Room 220. This course offers nonviolent crisis intervention training tactics that are designed to teach best practices for managing difficult situations and disruptive behaviors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>First Aid:<\/strong> 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 1, at the Emergency Services Training Building. This class teaches response actions during health-related or medical emergencies, and assists participants to recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing and first-aid emergencies.
