{"id":95301,"date":"2019-03-14T10:40:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T14:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=95301"},"modified":"2023-11-27T15:07:57","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T20:07:57","slug":"ucfs-video-game-programs-ranked-among-top-15-nation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucfs-video-game-programs-ranked-among-top-15-nation\/","title":{"rendered":"麻豆原创\u2019s Video Game Programs Ranked Among Top 15 in the World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>麻豆原创\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/interactive-entertainment-ms\/\">video game graduate program<\/a> ranks No. 5 in the world while its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/digital-media-ba\/\">undergraduate game design program<\/a> ranks No. 13, according to The Princeton Review and <em>PC Gamer<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe Princeton Review rankings reflect the high quality of our interactive game development programs at 麻豆原创.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is the tenth straight year that <a href=\"https:\/\/fiea.ucf.edu\/\">The Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy<\/a> (FIEA), 麻豆原创\u2019s graduate game development program, has been named one of the top five programs in the world by the Princeton Review. And 麻豆原创\u2019s undergraduate <a href=\"https:\/\/communication.ucf.edu\/games-and-interactive-media\/\">Games and Interactive Media<\/a> department moved up 23 places from 2018\u2019s ranking of 36.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Princeton Review rankings reflect the high quality of our interactive game development programs at 麻豆原创,\u201d says Robert S. Littlefield, director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/communication.ucf.edu\/\">Nicholson School of Communication and Media<\/a>. \u201cWe are very pleased that the extraordinary efforts of our faculty to provide high-quality instruction to growing numbers of students has been recognized as being among the best in the world. I look forward to even higher rankings for the programs in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both programs will be located at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/downtown\/\">麻豆原创 Downtown<\/a> starting in Fall 2019. In partnership with Valencia College, the brand-new campus will bring 7,700 students to live, learn and work in downtown Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m pleased that the Princeton Review has recognized 麻豆原创\u2019s continued focus on gaming education at the undergraduate and graduate level,\u201d says Ben Noel, executive director of FIEA. \u201cAs we continue to grow, I expect 麻豆原创 Downtown to become an even greater hub for game design education and industry collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur department of Games and Interactive Media offers a space for student to develop their creative voices through expressive work across platforms, ranging from video games, mobile applications and websites to virtual and augmented reality experiments,\u201d says assistant director Anastasia Salter. \u201cThe faculty appreciate this recognition of the department\u2019s continual efforts to provide this excellence at 麻豆原创\u2019s impressive scale and community impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since opening its doors in 2005, FIEA has graduated 671 students. Graduates are working at more than 230 companies around the world, including Apple, DreamWorks, Electronic Arts, Blizzard, Bungie, Zynga, RockStar, Ubisoft, Disney, Microsoft and Nintendo.<\/p>\n<p>The Games and Interactive Media department is part of the interdisciplinary Nicholson School of Communication and Media. The department serves more than 1,000 students and offers undergraduate specializations in Game Design and Web and Social Platforms, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/degree\/digital-media-ma\/\">Master of Arts in Digital Media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Princeton Review chose the programs based on its 2018 survey of 150 institutions in the U.S., Canada and abroad that offer game design degree programs or courses. The 40-question survey gathered data on everything from 麻豆原创\u2019s game design academic offerings and lab facilities to the program\u2019s graduates\u2019 starting salaries and career achievements.
