[lead]For competitive BMX rider Robert Barranco \u201917<\/strong>,\u00a0thriving on new experiences is more than a way of life.\u00a0It\u2019s a business model.[\/lead]<\/p>\n

The business grad<\/a> started riding BMX bikes when\u00a0he was 15 and made his first impromptu trip to Texas for\u00a0a BMX competition while a first-year student at 麻豆原创.\u00a0With very little money and a supply of peanut butter\u00a0sandwiches, he pulled off the trip. He\u2019s since made it\u00a0his mission to visit skate parks all over the world,\u00a0applying thrifty travel methods to visit 29 countries\u00a0and hundreds of skate parks.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t always need a plan, and you don\u2019t need a\u00a0ton of money,\u201d Barranco says. \u201cI\u2019ve always kind of been\u00a0spontaneous, but traveling has definitely enhanced it\u00a0even more. Just seeing something for yourself will give\u00a0you more of an understanding than anything else\u00a0ever will.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taken with this idea of trying new things, Barranco\u00a0and some friends started a clothing company in 2015\u00a0called FTE Collective, or \u201cFor The Experience.\u201d The\u00a0online store sells items \u2014 such as T-shirts, patches and\u00a0mugs \u2014 that embody their tendency to try things for the\u00a0sake of experiencing them.<\/p>\n

His travels and company are gaining followers\u00a0and sponsors, including Timex, which recently sent\u00a0Barranco and his colleagues to London to document his\u00a0trip as part of an advertising campaign. Timex also sells\u00a0FTE Collective\u2019s products in its Japan store.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point in my life, all I want to do is ride my\u00a0bike with friends and travel,\u201d he says in the 30-second\u00a0commercial that premiered earlier this year. \u201cYou\u00a0realize you have one life, and you can do whatever\u00a0you want.\u201d<\/p>\n
