His company allows TV, film and video game producers to find and license original songs in a searchable online database. It has grown into a full-service music production firm with in-house composers, offices on three continents and clients such as \u201cThe Real Housewives of Atlanta\u201d and \u201cThe Voice.\u201d[\/lead]<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI was a 22-year-old kid right out of school<\/strong> with a house, a car and a dog. But I still needed to figure out what I really wanted to do. So I sold everything I owned, put my life in a backpack and off I went. I surfed my way up the coast of South Africa. In India I studied with Buddhist monks. I went to Australia, Thailand and Japan. It was the most transformative step I\u2019ve taken in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAll my important transitional moments<\/strong> have been based around relationships. There have been people who set me on a path for success. As much as it\u2019s luck, it\u2019s also being prepared to accept opportunities and not back away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI met my business partner at a Black Keys concert in Brooklyn.<\/strong> He played in bands for years and had all this music that he wanted to sell to TV shows. He said he wished there was a search engine that producers could use to find his music, and I thought I could build something like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to redefine the modern music and media company.<\/strong> We want to be the hyper publishing model that utilizes technology to find solutions for media producers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":5706,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5297","story","type-story","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","issues-14","issues-fall-2014"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v22.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
