BIOGRAPHY:

Chrysanthos Farmakis is a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at the Âé¶¹Ô­´´ (Âé¶¹Ô­´´) specializing in water resources. He earned his MSc in Civil Engineering in 2022 from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands, completing the Water Management track with a focus on Hydrology, and his Diploma in Civil Engineering in 2020 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in Greece, where he specialized in Hydraulics. He has been a Chartered Civil Engineer in Greece and a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE – TCG) since 2021. He worked as an engineering consultant in Greece, conducting hydrologic analyses and designing flood-protection structures, and before joining Âé¶¹Ô­´´ he also spent six months at the University of Connecticut (UCONN) as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Eversource Energy Center.

Paragraph 2 – Research:

Chrysanthos’s research interests include, but are not limited to, hydroclimatic and environmental risk quantification, flood risk estimation, hydroclimatic variability and impact assessment, hydrologic modeling, infrastructure resilience to extreme weather events and flood-related hazards, and remote-sensing applications in water resources.
