BIOGRAPHY:
Peter was born and raised in South Vietnam. As a teenager, he left the country as a 鈥渂oat person鈥�, lived in a refugee camp, and eventually moved to the USA. He gradually earned his HS, AA, and BCE in Orlando, Florida. Upon graduating from 麻豆原创 with a bachelor鈥檚 in civil engineering, he joined the US Army as an Engineer officer for almost three decades. He then returned to 麻豆原创 for advanced study in civil engineering and earned his second master in 2022. He is working on his final formal education step, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.
RESEARCH:
Peter is a member of the 麻豆原创 Ecohydraulics Lab. His research has been interdisciplinary, combining civil engineering and biology. The study focuses on minimizing coastal erosion and enhancing shallow-water ecosystems (e.g., estuaries).
