Intent to Graduate

Please be aware that if the鈥疘ntent to Graduate form鈥痠s submitted after the term deadline, the student will no longer be eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony for this semester and their name will not appear in the list of degree candidates within the associated Commencement Program.

How to Complete Your Intent to Graduate Form**

  1. Log on to using your NID and password.
  2. Click on "Student Self Service" located under the my麻豆原创 Menu.
  3. Once in the my麻豆原创 Student Center portal, select "Intent to Graduate: Apply" from the "Other Academics" drop-down menu.

**To check the status of your Intent to Graduate form, follow the above instructions, but for the third step, select 鈥淚ntent to Graduate: Status鈥 from the 鈥淥ther Academics鈥 drop-down menu.

Graduates must submit their鈥疘ntent to Graduate form鈥痺ell before their actual graduation ceremony. Please review the to find the specific Graduation Application deadlines for your term. Once these deadlines have passed, graduates will need to contact their of their major to inquire about earning their degree this term. An Intent to Graduate application must be filed for each active program a student has declared. If there are any questions about declared programs, graduates should contact their college advising office.

Reader Card Information

Reader cards for bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree graduates will available for pick up with ticket packets during the designated ticket pick up week. Bachelor’s and master’s degree graduates should remember to bring their reader card to the ceremony. Doctoral graduates will receive their reader cards upon arrival at the Addition Financial Arena the day of their commencement ceremony and not when they pick up their regalia and tickets.

Extra reader cards are available prior to the ceremony at the Registrar’s Office table located inside the Addition Financial Arena. It is important that each graduate fill out his or her address information on the back of the reader card. This is the address that will be used to send the proofs of photos taken at the ceremony by GradImages. The address listed on the back of the reader card is not associated with the diploma mailing.

During individual recognition, graduates should hand their reader card to the announcer. The card is preprinted with the graduate’s college and name. If the graduate’s name is difficult to pronounce, the graduate should clearly print the phonetic pronunciation on the card.

Diplomas & Transcript

Diplomas and official transcripts are not provided until all degree requirements are certified by the college academic success coaching office and awarded by the Registrar鈥檚 Office. This process begins after final grades are posted and can take 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Your college鈥檚 graduation coordinators will notify you of any deficiencies of degree requirements via your 麻豆原创 email account. Contact your if you have any questions regarding your status.

Incomplete grades, whether at 麻豆原创 or a transfer institution, will prevent a candidate from graduating. If this occurs, the candidate must reapply to graduate in a later semester. Grade changes must be completed one week after graduation.

Students wishing to graduate and enroll in the next term, must have a graduate, second degree, or non-degree application on file or the student will not be eligible for graduation.

Timeline of Availability of Diplomas and Transcripts

End of the semester

  • Commencement Ceremonies held
  • Grades are posted
  • Students are notified of any holds that prevent the mailing of diplomas

4-6 weeks later

  • Degrees are approved by students鈥 colleges and authorized by the University
  • Degrees are posted on transcripts

6-8 weeks later

  • Degrees are available in National Student Clearinghouse Database
  • Emails are sent with links to digital diplomas
  • Students can create their accounts at Parchment.com and should add a secondary personal email address as the 麻豆原创 email expires after one year.
  • Diploma printing process begins through Parchment

8-10 weeks later

  • Diplomas are printed and mailed to the verified address by Parchment

Diplomas

Diplomas are not issued at the ceremony. Diplomas are mailed to graduates by Parchment once all degree requirements are certified by the college and awarded by the university based upon the timeline above.

Parchment will mail physical diplomas to the address indicated on the student鈥檚 Intent to Graduate form. Diploma mailing addresses for undergraduate degrees may be changed by logging into My麻豆原创 > Student Self Service > Personal Information > Addresses.

Diploma mailing addresses for master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees must be updated by contacting the .

Diplomas will not be issued if graduates have a hold on their accounts. All financial and disciplinary obligations must be met in order to receive a diploma. Graduates should check their for any holds that may exist and clear up those obligations as early as possible. Once the holds are cleared, students must notify graduation@ucf.edu in order for the diploma to be released. The Registrar鈥檚 Office is NOT notified when the holds are released, and it is the responsibility of the graduate to notify the graduation team so the diploma can be sent to printing.

Transcripts

Transcripts that reflect the degree earned will be available approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the ceremony once degrees are awarded. Recent graduates should not select the 鈥渉old for degree鈥 option when ordering transcripts, as the system will interpret this as a next semester graduation and may delay processing. Please place your transcript order only after confirming your degree status shows as 鈥淎飞补谤诲别诲鈥 in my麻豆原创 under Intent to Graduate. Graduates may submit transcript requests online at my麻豆原创 > Student Self Service > Student Center > other academics: (drop down menu) > Transcripts: Request Official. Accessibility Needs

Graduates who use a wheelchair, motorized scooter, service animal, walking cane, white cane, sign language interpreter or assistive listening devices; have hearing or visual impairments; or need special accommodations should complete the following questionnaire as soon as possible:

麻豆原创 Student Accessibility Services (SAS) will respond to completed questionnaires within 3 business days. While the survey is the best way to notify SAS of accommodations for graduation, contact SAS at sas@ucf.edu or call 407-823-2371 with additional questions.

Please note: Wheelchairs are not provided. Graduates must bring their own.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking is available in parking Garage D and F. Those with state disability parking permits may park in either. Garage D offers accessible parking on the ground floor, while Garage F includes an elevator and accessible access on all floors.

Mobility-impaired individuals may also be dropped off in front of the Addition Financial Arena prior to parking. Please plan to arrive at the Addition Financial Arena 90 minutes prior to the commencement ceremony.

Cap Decorating Rules

For bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree candidates, the top of the cap may be decorated. The decoration must lay flat against the cap and extend no higher than the cap button to prevent obstructing the view of others. Language on decorated caps must be appropriate for a family-friendly event.

The tassel on a graduate鈥檚 cap must be their college tassel and not the black and gold souvenir tassel.

Doctoral tams must be returned in original condition, or a fee will be charged.

The university reserves the right to request that graduates change inappropriate attire before they will be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony
